Vijay Kumar MalhotraVijay Kumar Malhotra was born on December 3, 1931 in Lahore, Punjab (now in Pakistan). He is currently a member of parliament (14th Lok Sabha) from the South Delhi constituency in New Delhi, and is the party Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha.

He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party. This is Malhotra's 4th term in the Lok Sabha. He has also served as a member of the Rajya Sabha. He has had an active career in politics; Chief Executive Councillor of Delhi's Metropolitan Council (1967), President of the Janata Party, Delhi (1977) and BJP, Delhi (1980-84).

Now the deputy leader of the BJP parliamentary party, Malhotra is also an educationist. He holds Doctorate in Hindi Literature. Besides politics and social work, Malhotra is also involved with chess and archery clubs in Delhi.
