    Swami Ram DevSwami Ramdev (Baba Ramdev) was born as Ramkishan Yadav in 1953, in Said Alipur in the Mahendragarh district  of Haryana India. Baba Ramdev studied in his Narnaul village school till 5th. He studied up to Class 8 in nearby village Shahjadpur and then joined a gurukul in Khanpur village to learn Sanskrit. Thereafter, he joined a yogic monastery (gurukul) in Khanpur village to study Sanskrit and Yoga. Eventually, he renounced worldly life and entered into Sanyas (monastic living) - taking the name Swami Ramdev. He spent many years undertaking an study of ancient Indian scriptures. At the same time, he also practiced intense self-discipline and meditation.

    He has been regularly conducting yoga camps all over India and even abroad   His educational shows are broadcast on the TV channels . His yoga (pronounced as Yog in Hindi/Sanskrit)camps are attended by a large number of people. Over 85 million people  follow his yoga camps through TV channels and videos. His yog teaching sessions are for the masses and free for all.

     Baba Ramdev joined the Kalva gurukul under Acharya Baldev ji Maharaj. He has given a new birth to Yoga by bringing it to public and benefiting people with it. He has helped Yoga become popular among common man  by curing many incurable diseases. Thousands of people everyday attend his Yoga camps. And many are following him in Yoga through TV channels and Videos.
