Sudha Shivpuri
At the age of 69 also Sudha Shivpuri is still at the helm of tellydom. One cannot seem to miss this lady who appears in the drawing room almost everyday either chanting religious mantras or blessing her whole family. This is the definition that is aptly suited for the eldest member of the Virani family called `Baa` in the most popular soap `Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi`. Her first brush with acting happened at the tender age of eight when her father had passed away and her mother had to run the house.

To keep the kitchen fires burning she decided to put in her best so she started off with plays. Then she switched off to Jaipur Radio and later went on to join the National School of Drama. It was at this time she met her husband Om. They had worked together on radio and plays. They were also in the same batch in NSD and very soon they fell in love. In the year 1968 she tied the knot with him and soon after she started a theater group called Dishantar, which was a huge hit.

Sudha Shivpuri then shifted to the tinsel town in the year 1974 with her husband. Soon she started appearing in films along with her husband who used to do three shifts a day. At that time their first child Ritu was born. She also received the offer of many serials and performed in two of them including `Aa Bail Mujhe Maar` and `Rajni`. Then she decided to shift her focus completely to television, as she was frustrated with the laid-back approach of the film industry. When she started slowing down on film she gave birth to her second child, which was a son and soon after devoted the entire time to her family. Suddenly the demise of her husband in the year 1990 left her completely shattered. To kept things running smoothly she started an acting class and also tried her hand at opening a general store but neither of these worked so she decided to go back to acting.

This talented and versatile actress was also seen in the recent Bollywood flcik `Pinjar`. She is also working on other two films, which are believed to see the light of the day soon. Fame does not matter to this actor so much so as she is not very ambitious. What matters to her the most is quality performance. She believes that if somebody wants to achieve something he/she can do irrespective of age. She is a brave lady and have tremendous willpower.
