Shriya is a young actress who has done several Tamil and Telugu movies and made a splash into Bollywood with 2007's Awarapan in which she was paired opposite Emraan Hashmi as his true love. Her innocence and restrained performance won her rave reviews. She also made waves with her performance in Sivaji opposite veteran superstar Rajnikant in 2006.

Shriya, which means Goddess Lakshmi, was born and brough up in Haridwar and has recently moved to Lokhandwala, Mumbai where she stays with her parents. Since Hindi is her mother tongue, she found it hard to learn Tamil and Telugu.

Her next Bollywood release is the multi-starrer thriller Mission Istanbul, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film also stars Zayed Khan and Vivek Oberoi.
