Shilpa Anand was born in South Africa on 10 December 1982. She did her schooling in South Africa. After completing her education, she shifted to Mumbai along with her family. She studied at the Punjab University obtaining a Masters in Computer Applications in 2003. She worked for five years in the Software industry.
She is the younger sister of Sakshi Shivanand, another actor who inspired her to act. Shilpa Anand rose to stardom when she starred in the television the series Dill Mill Gaye, in which she used to play, Dr. Riddhima Gupta alongside her co-star, Dr. Armaan Malik Karan Singh Grover.Her contract with the production house ended in June 2008 and this consequenced her leaving the show and her role of Dr. Riddhima Gupta. SHilpa has done two movies, Sirf & Iqraar By Chance. She is dating Parikshit.
