The popular small screen actor Rajeev Paul has been attracted to the career option of acting from a very tender age. When he shifted to the tinsel town he just wanted to act throughout his life because the acting bug had bit him hard. He enrolled himself in an acting school but it did not help in much apart from boosting his confidence. Most of his training has happened on job in front of the camera. Rajeev Paul terms Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki as the greatest turning point of his career. His character in that soap was gradually built up instead of showing it as out and out villainous. The initial goodness was also shown with a certain smirk by means of facial expressions and other bodily gestures. In the later stages when the darker shades of his character began to surface his dialogue delivery became very quick reflecting the additional energy levels and excitement within. Overall he found the character to be very interesting as a performer.
Among his favorite actors he include the names of the Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bachhan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. He also owes a lot to his acting school in terms of acting as he has learnt to be a very natural actor and not involve the traits of other popular actors. He always wanted to carve out a style of his own and has succeeded in doing so.
According to him television does seem to get very taxing with the endless rush to meet deadlines and episodes. Before taking up a role he always prefers to look at the story and then the character. Money also plays an important part but not irrespective of how important his character is.
He claims that initially TV acting does not pay well but with time one can establish himself and then go for a remuneration hike. On a scale of 10 Rajjev Paul would like rate himself 4 to 5, which is very good according to him because when started his career he did not even deserve 1. He also expects the directors to enact the scenes before he goes for the real shoot as it helps him also to understand what his directors expect out of him. He also expects some freedom to be given to him so that his individuality is not hampered. Getting married to Delnaaz is one of the happiest moments of his life as well as the last eight years has also been quite exciting. This extremely versatile actor has a large fan following who sincerely wishes him to add more feathers in his hat of success in the years to come.
