He created thousands of jobs in backward areas, built schools and hospitals and was deeply admired for his philanthropy. He entered politics and was the Minister of Power in Haryana at the time of his tragic death in a helicopter crash. O.P. biography, richly illustrated with photographs, takes the reader on an absorbing journey through Shri O.P. Jindal's life. The title of the book is derived from the fact that, despite being untutored in engineering, Shri O.P. Jindal had an intuitive understanding of machines. He could design them, repair them and improve their efficiency, much to the amazement of the engineers in his team.

Shri O.P. Jindal's closeness and affinity with his workers is another aspect of his personality. He cared genuinely for their well-being, ensuring that the company provided housing, healthcare and education facilities for the workers and their families. He not only brought in new technologies into the iron and steel sector, he was more than happy to share his knowledge, to teach others who could possibly be his competitors. He felt that India's industrial sector could only grow if people shared their expertise freely.

From trading in pipes to a single factory in Calcutta to a Rs. 17,500 crore multi-unit pan-India presence, to a successful foray in politics, Shri O.P. Jindal accomplished it all in a single lifetime. Capturing the essence of this amazing story, the book has been authored by a well known journalist and writer Shri Anil Dharker . His other work of fame is the recent book "The Romance of Salt"- A tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's 75th Anniversary of Dandi March.
