Kristen Wilson was born in Chelmsford Massachusetts in 1969. Originally she trained as a dancer, performing with the Boston Ballet and attending Syracuse University where she received a BFA in musical theatre; during this time she was cast as Anita in a national tour of "West Side Story."

Afterwards she moved to New York where she received several small film roles and was a character on "Another World" before landing the role of Robin Givens in HBO's production of "Tyson." She has worked on fifteen other films and several television shows. Currently she is a recurring guest star on "The District" and this summer she is filming the movie "Walking Tall" which stars The Rock. She is married to special effects makeup artist Martin Astles and has two children.
