Trivia

Kent Tong
  • Tong Chun Yip will be remembered during the 1980's as one of "The Five Tigers", which includes actors like Miu Kiu Wai, Wong Yat Wah, Leung Chiu Wai and Lau Tak Wah.
  • This group of actors starred in almost all of the 1980 TVB Classic Dramas, both Modern and Mo Hup.
  • Tong Chun Yip's best acting performance was in "The Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils 1982", as one of the three leads, Din Yee.
  • Din Yee was a simple character which suited a simple actor like Tong Chun Yip.
  • Chan Ho Man's portrayal of Din Yee differed from the novel. Like I said Din Yee is supposed to be a simple character.
  • Chan Ho Man used his facial expressions and silly voice and turned the Din Yee character into a comedian.
  • Perhaps Chan Ho Man should look for a staring role in "Journey West 3 and 4" if TVB decides produce those series.
  • Tong Chun Yip was a supporting actor in many Mo Hup Series. For instance he was the Mongolian Prince Fok Do, in "The Return of the Condor Heroes".
  • The scene when Yeung Gor and Fok Do had a duel was absolutely terrible.
  • It was a picture perfect example of bad acting. They could use this scene as a training tool in acting school as an example of how not to act. Tong Chun Yip was also a Prince in "The Yang's Saga".
