  • On June 26, 1950, he was rewarded with his own 30-minute CBS early-evening talk-variety TV program The Garry Moore Show, which was a shorter version of his radio show.
  • Between 1947 and 1950, Moore began to make tentative steps into the new medium as a panelist and guest host on quiz and musical shows.
  • Left "To Tell the Truth" (1969) shortly before Christmas 1976 to undergo surgery; Bill Cullen, and later Joe Garagiola, took over as substitute hosts for the remainder of the syndicated show's 1976-1977 season.
  • Moore retured for one final show, taped June 26, 1977 (and promoted as the season premiere of "Truth's" 1977-1978 season), where he announced his retirement and handed the hosting duties over to Garagiola.
  • Mr. Moore's final TV appearance was on The Second Annual TV Hall Of Fame Awards in 1984. He was there to honor his most famous protege, Ms. Carol Burnett.
  • He was awarded 2 Stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Radio at 1718 Vine Street and for Television at 1680 Vine Street in Hollywood, California.
