    D.A. Johnson Jr., popularly known as Defari, is a hip hop artist, who is also associated with the Likwit Junkies, a rap ensemble consisting of  DJ Babu of Dilated Peoples. Defari started DJing in his youth in 1982, and in 1995, released his first single "Bionic" on Oakland based ABB Records. In 1999 Defari alongwith E-Swift of Tha Alkaholiks recorded his first album, Focused Daily, on Tommy Boy Records. After a four-year hiatus, Defari released Odds & Evens, followed by Street Music in 2006.
