    Arun The Minister of Law, Justice and Company Affairs, Arun Jaitely was born on December 28, 1952. Arun Jaitely did his schooling from St. Xavier’s School, New Delhi. He received his graduation degree in Commerce from Sri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi and also qualified for the law examination from University of Delhi. He has been practicing Law before the Supreme Court and several High Courts in the country since 1977. In 1990, he was appointed as the Additional Solicitor General of India. Arun Jaitely was president of Students, Union of Delhi University (1974). During the period of proclamation of Internal Emergency, he was under preventive detention for more than a year.

    Arun Jaitely has recently presented a paper on laws related to Corruption and crime in India before the Indo British Legal Forum. Arun Jaitely also represented the Indian Government in the United Nation General Assembly in 1998. He is a member of Bharitya Janata Party as well as the National Executive of the Party.
