• Lives and works in Mumbai, to which he returned in 1967.
• Was awarded the Fellowship of the Lalit Kala Akademi in 1962.
• Later spent some time in New York.
• Like some others of his contemporaries, he went to Paris in the early 1950s.
• Exhibited with the Progressive Artists' Group, a group that reacted against both Western classicism and folk-art revival to establish modern and personal styles.
