  • In 2008, Advani released a personal autobiography, My Country, My Life. The book was published by the Rupa & Co and released by former Indian president Abdul Kalam on March 19, 2008. It has become an instant bestseller in India and has been consistently topping the charts in non-fiction book category.
  • 1992 - This later led to violent scenes with the destruction of the 16th century Babri mosque by Hindu hardliners, followed by some of India's worst religious violence since partition.
